Can someone please explain to me how or why horror movies are entertaining? I just saw straw dogs and it was some of the worst 2 hours of my life. I’m already subconciously repressing it. Thoughts?

So I learned about this thing called quantum immortality the other day. It’s pretty cool. The idea is that, faced with any potentially lethal situation, you will always experience yourself living because if you die, your consciousness won’t be around to experience that. Based on this, we all live in our own little universes where we’ll be the miracle man or woman who lives forever. And who knows, somewhere down the line maybe the 1/10^some huge number chance of someone else’s live-forever universe being the same as yours will come through and you’ll be friends for eternity with someone. Until they die a horrible death. Isn’t that cool?
